Carl Elizondo (born December 25, 1958) is an American musician, who gained prominence in the 1980s Los Angeles Sunset Strip music scene, especially within the glam metal and hair metal genres. He was a member of several bands such as RAZU, The Greg Leon Invasion, SIN, and Jag Wire, and was known for his hard-hitting drumming style reminiscent of John Bonham & Cozy Powell. Elizondo was connected to notable acts in the metal and rock scene, even playing alongside or being considered by famous musicians like Jake E. Lee and having auditioned with Ozzy Osbourne.
Beyond his drumming, Elizondo is also a multi-instrumentalist, having taught himself guitar, bass, keyboards, and vocals. He formed a musical project called Carl Elizondo & The Royal Union of Architects, focusing on a British pop/rock sound with psychedelic influences. His musical drive is rooted in passion for music as his “life’s blood,” influenced by classic and British rock like The Beatles and Oasis.
