Original Members Chris Eads and Thom Santee together with Bob Loza and Carl Elizondo played clubs and dives while writing original songs out of pure passion and desire!
The L.A. / Sunset strip scene was bubbling over with post-Punk and pre-New Wave bands. Black Flag. X, The Runaways, and on the east side, Los Lobos and The Plugs...
Meanwhile the San Gabriel Valley (Pasadena,San Gabriel, Alhambra) was festering with local hard rock bands waiting to make it big, and out of all that noise came this unheralded band called RAZU. Already veterans of a hundred gigs and complete with their own sound system and crew, they made a BIG noise of their own across the Southland. The L.A. / Sunset Strip, Pasadena and the 909 included.
Original Members Chris Eads and Thom Santee together with Bob Loza and Carl Elizondo played clubs and dives while writing original songs out of pure passion and desire. Small clubs with swirling blue lights and crowded floors, concert stages with stacks of Marshalls and Ampegs, playing tight and loud. Eventually sharing the stage with Stormer, Smile and Quiet Riot, this band of hard playing and hard singing rockers earned its place in the L.A. Scene. Their name is still remembered by those who know in the industry.
The Rock world is a harsh mistress, and eventually the band faded away for the usual reasons. But each one of those members went on to play in other popular bands, or as producers and session players. RAZU lives on and so do their incredible rock sound and original songs.
Chris is indeed an anomaly, a shredder who can play so tastefully and soulfully, he can make that guitar cry for mercy.
Thom is also adept at lead guitar but thrives at holding a rhythm like a clock and can weave melody like no one else.
Bob is the bass master, his finger walking technique fills the songs with rhythm and fullness.
Carl played so hard and loud, he broke more drumheads and cymbals than anyone, but tried to keep up with his heroes John Bonham, Neil Peart and Cozy Powell.
The boys spent much time in the studio recording many songs and making many memories.
Razu is available on iTunes, Spotify and where ever music is sold.
"Miles Behind You" is due out September 30 2025
